Experts in the promotion of renewable energy in Asia said the Philippines is on the right track as they cited the government’s efforts in formulating laws that focus on the use of renewable sources of energy.
Technologies to efficiently harness renewable energy and pending rules on the feed-in tariff are expected to be the focus of discussions in the Renewable Energy Summit Philippines 2010 scheduled this March 25-26 at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.
"It would be good to know during the summit what are the latest developments in renewable energy [RE] technology in other countries. RE technology is still developing, so I expect to know developments in other countries," Jesus N. Alcordo, Global Business Power Corp. president, said in a phone interview.
