We invite Filipino startup companies (in Visayas and Mindanao) involved in technology, including consumer web, internet, mobile, wireless, social media, gaming, software, clean and biotech. We like the companies to have an authentic and owned IP with at least 2 founders who aim to solve a real and big problem. We also preferthe company to have an existing product, with market traction and revenue. The startup must be looking for funding and/or global business development.

Senator Edgardo J. Angara has proposed the creation of innovation clusters for state universities and colleges (SUC's) in order to boost their capacity for research and development (R&D) and make the fruits of this research available to more people.

Senator Edgardo J. Angara has recommended the allocation of P50 million from the Commission on Higher Education's (CHED) proposed 2012 budget of P2.207 billion to support the immediate implementation of five innovation clusters. Angara, Chair of the Senate Committee on Education, Arts and Culture, made the proposal during the budget hearing of the CHED and the State Universities and Colleges (SUC's) yesterday.

Senator Edgardo J. Angara is encouraging high school students to apply for scholarships with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to deepen the country's pool of S&T professionals. Angara, Chair of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology, made the statement after the Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) has set the nationwide deadline for applications for the scholarships on October 21.
