After 15 years competing in the global software industry, Alvin Gendrano is in the Philippines to share his time, passion and experiences to help foster Philippine development. He is a seasoned technologist and currently works for Microsoft-US as Director of Business Management for the Business Platform Division (SQL Server and SQLAzure). In prior roles, he launched the Xbox Games-on-Demand service, managed global programs, and is a published author on distributed databases.

Alvin’s talk on Cloud Computing Trends is on December 3, 2010, Friday in De La Salle University from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.  Details are available here in our BGN Events Calendar.

As a software industry veteran with wide-ranging experiences covering technology consulting, commercial databases, application development, cloud computing, SaaS, and consumer e-commerce, Alvin will focus on how Cloud Computing will alter the Philippine IT landscape and the technopreneurial opportunities resulting from it. He will also touch on his career at Microsoft post-college which includes working for the SQLServer product and Xbox LIVE.

His credentials include an MBA from the University of North Carolina, an MS in Computer Science from the University of Arizona, and a BS in Computer Science from De La Salle University.
