We have an amazing couple visiting Manila to share their expertise in the fields of astrophysics and sociology. Doctors Daniel Holz and Jessica Scott Jerome will be engaging with us in the forthcoming days about their works.

Dr. Daniel Holz is with the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico under its Theoretical Division. During his visit, he will introduce us to some basic concepts of the cosmos and update us with stellar developments about our Universe for the past two decades.

Dr. Jessica Scott Jerome recently finished a study on women and HIV/AIDS in Fortaleza, Brazil, focusing on a human rights- based approach and believes the Philippines shares similarities with Brazil. Dr. Jerome’s research could help Philippine health policies regarding HIV/AIDS treatment especially for economically marginalized women in urban centers.

Dr. Holz is scheduled to give an academic talk in UP Diliman’s College of Science Auditorium and have conversations over coffee in Starbucks Jupiter Street, Makati both on June 15, 2010 (Tuesday). (Click on the links to access details about each talk.)

On the other hand, Dr. Jerome will be sharing her research work with the Asian Development Bank. Her other speaking engagements and its details shall be announced here in the Brain Gain Network website subsequently.

Please join us!  (Especially when there will be free Starbucks coffee.)

RSVP at the Brain Gain Network events page or contact Nicole Paterno.
