Animation Council of the Philippines’ President Grace Dimaranan asks, “Why Not Pinoy Animation Content?” Recounting the history of the local animation industry as merely uncredited outsourcing outfits, Grace then explains the gradual industry shift to original content in large part due to Filipino’s talent, entrepreneurialism, and creativity.

Fr. Jomar Legaspi, Founder and President of Learn.Ph, outlines the challenges facing our outdated educational methodologies, likening the current system to obsolete factories of the industrial age. He then proposes a paradigm shift – an educational revolution harnessing the power of technology and creativity – in order for Filipinos to be competitive in the 21st Century.

In this talk, Prof. Jay Bernardo shares his experiences as an entrepreneur, a manager, and an educator to illustrate how the spirit of entrepreneurship can be imbibed by anyone who is willing to look at things from a different perspective. He talks about a groundbreaking entrepreneurship program in his very own JAD Group of Companies, as well as his work in the Let’s Go Foundation, which have helped many Filipinos break out into their own. He encourages people to develop business ideas by seeking solutions to “irritants” around them and urges his listeners to “look at the opportunity before looking at the dangers… because once you see the opportunities, you will no longer see the dangers.”

In an engaging talk about the mind’s possibilities, Dr. Greg Tangonan shares recent studies and experiments involving mind mapping, mind control, “out of body experiences” in the virtual world, and other mind-body experiments. He cites how this decade of the New Millennium has been called “The decade of the mind initiative,” spurring such creations as a mind-controlled video game. In trying to understand the human brain, Dr. Tangonan suggests that it might be possible to measure emotions and even the effects of “faith healing.”
