This is a Biotech Enterprise Lecture on New Technologies in Diagnostics by Dr. Rey Garcia, Balik Scientist 2010. This is made possible together with the Balik Scientist Program of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the University of the Philippines Manila.
Dr. Garcia will discuss both the science and business aspects of in vitro diagnostics, with particular emphasis on emerging markets and the developing world.
Dr. Rey Garcia is an independent biotech consultant. He was senior scientist at Cancer Research UK and manager of the London Biotechnology Network. He has worked on extramural projects of big pharmaceutical companies (notably, Merck & Roche Diagnostics) and has advised UK Trade & Investments, various trade bodies, investors and biopharma companies from across the globe.
