The Philippine American Academy of Science and Engineering (PAASE) will be having its next annual meeting in Houston, Texas on May 4-5, 2012. It will be a gathering of like-minded colleagues who are passionate about the sciences and engineering. More importantly, it will be a gathering for those of us who have a similar passion for the Philippines.
Startup Weekend is an intense 54-hour event where participants share ideas, carve out business plans, complete prototypes, and discover if their ideas can become viable businesses. This hands-on experience happens over the course of one weekend -- starting Friday 7 pm and ending Sunday night. Startup Weekend brings together people with different skillsets - primarily software developers, graphics designers and business people - to build applications and develop a commercial case around them.
