    Scheduled on July 30, 2010 (Friday), from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Caridad Barrion Hall, St. Scholastica's College, Manila. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m.

    Mobile Phones and Language Literacy in Rural Developing Regions
    Matthew Kam, Assistant Professor, Carnegie Mellon University and Founder, the MILLEE project

    While high profile initiatives like One Laptop Per Child tout the potential of low-cost laptops to extend learning opportunities to learners around the world, especially those in rural and disadvantaged communities, many of the target communities are being slowly saturated with a computing device of a different sort: the mobile phone.
