Grocery Delivery Service Business Idea

Hello everyone,

I had been researching about this great idea to incorporate a grocery delivery system to big supermarkets like Puregold and SM. This will be an added value service to them at the same time enables busy people to do grocery shopping at home. This will as well provide grocers with safety, security and time and money savings since instead of going to the supermarket themselves, they will just order it over the phone and have it delivered right at their doorstep. This service can be done as a contractor doing the delivery service. The only blurry side of the business is how the business will profit. I was thinking of gaining profit for each item purchased by the customer or the owner which in this case the supermarket will pay the service the company is offering.

I believe this idea is really great and will provide difference to what the supermarket is presently offering. Any comments are welcome.

Thanks,

Arvin

Hi Arvin! I like your idea. I think it would do Puregold and SM well. Add in Robinson's. Especially if these are just near villages or subdivisions.

Rustans is implementing a home delivery system already. If I am not mistaken, similar to when you ask McDo, Jollibee, KFC, etc. to deliver fastfood there's a minimum purchase requirement.

When you say that you will gain from each item purchased, does this mean that as a contractor, you'll ask Puregold or SM to impose an additional price from their retail amount? Hmm ... it might not bode well with the consumers.

Maybe you could provide them the website wherein consumers can log on to indicate their purchases, I think you could earn from that.  Sell the system to Puregold, SM, or Robinson's and maybe give them the optios/ packages for you to help manage it for them or otherwise.

A study you could look at it Amazon. People buy the book at its value and then they pay the corresponding delivery charges. They create their own account and they just place things in their shopping cart.

Going back to your proposal, you could probably have ads of the grocery items on the website from P&G, Unilever, Nestle, etc. where you can earn income from.

Hope these help. :)

You should check out Amazon Fresh and Alice.com. I've been following both since they started and they might get it right this time. Pick up some ideas on how they do it.

Hi Nicole,

Thanks for the comments, infact that's what I was thinking of people can register or create their account via website and they have the option to pay online or via COD. Great tips about Amazon I haven't thought of that =) well I only have a good idea but so far no capital yet to make this a true business venture. I am looking for partners if you know someone who gets interested about this idea I m more welcome to discuss more and take partnership with them. Thanks again for the great tips.

God bless..
